AI deal guidance tells the rep what to do next on a specific deal: what to ask on this call, how to answer this objection, which stakeholder to bring in and what to send afterwards. Aviso, Backstory, Gong, Momentum, Salesforce Agentforce, Salesloft, Sybill, Winn.ai and Proshort describe it on their sites. Compare them by where the guidance reaches the rep: before, during or after the call.
This post is part of our guide to what to look for in AI for solution engineers. For manager-facing pipeline inspection and forecast dashboards, see our comparison of deal intelligence tools; this one is about the rep and the next move.
Key takeaways
Deal guidance is rep-facing and deal-specific: the next question, the next stakeholder, the next email. Deal intelligence is the manager's view of the same pipeline.
Most platforms guide between calls, through nudges, briefs, tasks and CRM updates. Gong describes real-time alerts in its Zoom app; Winn.ai and Proshort (our product) describe guidance during the live call.
Methodology support is common: Backstory, Gong, Momentum, Sybill, Winn.ai and Proshort (our product) all describe MEDDICC-style tracking in some form.
Only Sybill, Salesforce (a starting price for its Agentforce for Sales add-on) and Proshort (our product) publish prices.
Choose by where your enterprise deals stall: on the call, between calls or in a buying group nobody has mapped.
How we compared these tools
A platform made this list only if its own site describes guidance that reaches the rep about a specific deal, not only a manager dashboard. We checked:
Before the call: a brief with attendees, history and open questions
On the call: anything that reaches the rep while the buyer is talking
After the call: next step, follow-up draft and CRM updates, and whether the rep approves them
Across the cycle: stakeholder coverage, MEDDICC gaps and risk signals
Proshort makes Aria, one of the tools below; we list it last and describe every tool from its own website. Vendor information was checked in November 2026; we did not test competitors hands-on, and prices appear only where published. The tools are not ranked: they are grouped by where their guidance shows up, alphabetically within each group, with Proshort last.
What is AI deal guidance, and how is it different from deal intelligence?
AI deal guidance turns what happened on calls, in emails and in the CRM into the rep's next action on one deal, with the evidence attached. Deal intelligence answers the manager's question, "Which deals are at risk?" Deal guidance answers the rep's question, "What do I do about this one today?"
The difference matters most in enterprise cycles. Forrester found that 13 people on average are involved in a B2B buying decision, so a deal can look healthy in the CRM while the economic buyer has never joined a call. A dashboard flags that risk; guidance tells the AE, sales engineer or presales lead who to bring in and what to ask next. For how the same signals feed win prediction, see how to use AI for predicting deal success and pipeline health.
What should AI deal guidance do at each stage of an enterprise deal?
Good guidance is specific enough to act on today:
Before the call (the brief): who is attending, what they said last time, which MEDDICC fields are empty, and the questions that close them. Example: "No one from finance has joined. Ask who approves spend at this size."
On the call (next question, objection answer): when the buyer asks "Where is our data stored?" or says "We already pay for Gong", the rep needs the approved answer now, not after the solution engineer replies by email.
After the call (next step, follow-up, CRM): a dated next step with an owner, a follow-up in the buyer's words, and fields such as Next Step and Decision Criteria updated with the rep's approval.
Across the cycle (stakeholders, gaps, risk): who is engaged and who went quiet, MEDDICC gaps that persist for weeks, and signals such as a champion going silent.
Three tests separate guidance from noise: it names an action, it links to the evidence, and it reaches the rep where they already work.

Guidance across the deal cycle
These platforms sit on the pipeline and CRM; guidance reaches the rep as nudges and tasks between calls.
Aviso
Aviso says its Deal Acceleration product guides next best actions on every opportunity using AI nudges. A Stagnant Deal Nudge flags deals untouched for 15 days or more, Risk Nudges flag stuck deals near their close date, and Anomaly Nudges recommend next steps for deals stuck in one stage. Mobile alerts bring deal insights before meetings, and Relationship Intelligence targets single-threading.
Watch for: the pages we read do not mention MEDDICC or help during a live call, and no prices are published.
Backstory (formerly People.ai)
Backstory confirms that People.ai is now Backstory. It maps every stakeholder (who is engaged, who has gone quiet, who just left) and scores any opportunity against MEDDPICC, with every line backed by a real meeting or email. Activity is captured automatically, so reps log nothing new.
Watch for: the homepage describes no follow-up drafting, live-call help or prices.
Gong
Gong's AI agents cover several moments: AI Briefer builds briefs for contacts, calls, deals and accounts; AI Tasker surfaces high-impact tasks; AI Composer drafts emails to advance deals; AI Deal Reviewer evaluates deals against your methodology; and AI Deal Monitor flags risks such as single-threaded deals. On the call, the Gong App for Zoom can alert a rep who is talking more than Gong's data suggests, or cue them when the most important person on the call has gone quiet.
Watch for: live help is described as alerts in Zoom, not answers to buyer questions. Prices are not published.
Salesforce Agentforce
Salesforce says its AI sales agents guide sellers at every step of the sales cycle from inside the CRM. Agentforce delivers meeting and account briefs in Slack, ChatGPT and mobile, and updates fields such as Stage and Next Steps from calls, emails and notes, autonomously or in a mode where reps approve changes. Einstein Deal Insights adds recommendations to move deals forward.
Watch for: no help during the live call is described. The Agentforce for Sales add-on is listed from $125 per user per month; final cost depends on needs and conversation volume. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Momentum on March 2, 2026.
Salesloft (includes Clari)
Since September 2026, Salesloft and Clari operate as one company under the Salesloft name, with Clari Forecast keeping its name. The guidance layer is Rhythm: it pulls buyer signals into one place, the Prioritizer AI Agent turns them into a prioritized workflow, and Plays tell reps what to do next.
Watch for: the Rhythm page does not describe meeting prep, methodology tracking or live-call help, and no prices are published.
Guidance around each meeting
These tools focus on meeting prep and the admin after it.
Momentum (now part of Salesforce)
Momentum now says it is part of Salesforce. Its Deal Execution Agent handles post-call work: AI suggested tasks and email follow-ups, Salesforce field updates and saved notes. A MEDDIC Autopilot keeps qualification fields current, and risks and key moments are routed to the right people.
Watch for: Executive Briefs are listed without detail, nothing is described for the live call, and the site does not say how Momentum will be sold inside Salesforce.
Sybill
Sybill says it uses past deals to help reps decide what to do next, and recommends next-best actions such as who to engage and when to multithread. Its pre-meeting briefs research the guests, recall the last conversation, suggest an agenda, raise open tasks and track MEDDPICC. Afterwards it drafts follow-up emails and updates CRM fields.
Watch for: no help during the call is described, and CRM Autofill starts on the Business plan.
Guidance on the live call
Two tools describe guidance that reaches the rep while the buyer is still talking, where an unanswered technical question often stalls the deal.
Winn.ai
Winn.ai promises real-time AI guidance on every sales call, from a context engine that knows the stage, who else is involved and what is unresolved. Its Pro plan lists real-time playbook guidance for MEDDPICC, SPICED and BANT, live answers, battle cards and in-call CRM visibility, plus CRM updates, follow-up emails and meeting prep.
Watch for: no prices are published, Enterprise needs at least 20 seats, and the pricing page names no meeting platforms.
Proshort (our product)
Proshort covers all four moments with one assistant, Aria. Before the call, Ask Aria answers "Brief me on all my upcoming calls today." On the call, Aria Live puts the sourced answer, the proof point and the next question on the rep's screen in under a second, on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, and only the rep sees it. After the call, Aria drafts the follow-up for the rep to send.
Watch for: Aria Live is metered at $3 per call hour on top of $75 per rep per month. Regional data residency, SSO and role-based access come with Enterprise plans only.
Which deal guidance platform fits your team?
Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
Deals stall on technical or security questions when the sales engineer is not on the call | Winn.ai or Proshort | Both describe guidance on the rep's screen while the buyer talks |
You run MEDDICC or MEDDPICC and cannot tell which fields have evidence | Backstory, Gong or Proshort | Methodology checks tied to calls and emails |
Deals are single-threaded across large buying groups | Backstory or Aviso | Stakeholder maps and relationship intelligence |
Everything lives in Salesforce and IT wants one vendor | Salesforce Agentforce | Guidance and rep-approved updates inside the CRM record |
Reps lose hours to prep and follow-up | Sybill or Momentum | Briefs, follow-up drafts and CRM updates around each meeting |
Reps already work their day in Salesloft or Gong | Salesloft Rhythm or Gong agents | Next actions in the workflow they use; add on-call help if calls are the gap |
Then test on one real deal before you sign:
Pick an enterprise opportunity with four or more stakeholders and a known gap, such as no economic buyer on record.
Check whether each tool's brief names that gap before the next call.
Note what reaches the rep during the call, and how fast.
Compare the drafted next step, follow-up and CRM changes with what happened.
Ask the rep which guidance they acted on; guidance nobody acts on is a dashboard.
Where Proshort fits (and where it does not)
Proshort fits enterprise teams whose deals stall on the call and between calls. Aria Live gives the AE the answer to a technical or competitive question when the sales engineer is not in the room. The deal pipeline review shows probability, 14-day momentum and MEDDICC for every active deal, with evidence from calls, and pattern and signal detection surfaces moments like a champion going silent or a document asked for twice.
After each meeting, AI agents such as a deal-risk analyzer write back to CRM fields and post to Slack, each tested in a preview run first. Aria drafts the follow-up in the buyer's own words with owners and the next step; the rep reviews and sends it.
"Our win/loss reviews have also become significantly more valuable." Deepak PG, Senior Director Sales Operations, MetricStream
Read the MetricStream case study. Proshort is not the best fit if your main need is forecast submission and roll-ups across a very large organization, which Clari Forecast, Gong Forecast and Aviso are built for, or if you want all guidance inside Salesforce from one vendor.
Frequently asked questions
What is AI deal guidance?
AI deal guidance is software that tells the rep the next action on a specific deal, with the evidence behind it. It arrives as a brief before the meeting, a prompt or answer during the call, a drafted follow-up and CRM update afterwards, and alerts about stakeholder or qualification gaps. The rep still decides what to do.
What are the top platforms that offer AI-driven deal guidance for complex enterprise sales cycles?
As of November 2026, Aviso, Backstory (formerly People.ai), Gong, Salesforce Agentforce, Salesloft (which now includes Clari), Momentum, Sybill, Winn.ai and Proshort (our product) describe deal guidance on their own sites. Most guide between calls. Gong describes real-time alerts in its Zoom app, and Winn.ai and Proshort also describe guidance during the live call.
How is deal guidance different from deal intelligence?
Deal intelligence helps managers inspect the pipeline: health scores, risk dashboards and forecast roll-ups. Deal guidance turns the same evidence into the rep's next move on one deal, when it is needed. Many platforms do both, so check which screen the guidance reaches and when.
Can AI deal guidance track MEDDICC?
Yes. Backstory scores opportunities against MEDDPICC from meetings and emails, Gong's AI Deal Reviewer checks deals against your own methodology, Momentum lists a MEDDIC Autopilot and Sybill's briefs track MEDDPICC. Winn.ai guides live on MEDDPICC, SPICED or BANT, and Proshort (our product) shows MEDDICC for every active deal.
Does any deal guidance tool help during the live call?
A few do. Gong describes real-time alerts in its Zoom app, such as talking too much. Winn.ai describes real-time playbook guidance and live answers, and Aria Live from Proshort (our product) puts a sourced answer and the next question on the rep's screen as the buyer asks, visible only to the rep.
How much does AI deal guidance cost?
Most vendors here do not publish prices. Sybill lists a free tier, Pro at $30 to $36 and Business at $90 to $108 per user per month depending on billing, and Salesforce lists its Agentforce for Sales add-on from $125 per user per month. Proshort (our product) costs $75 per rep per month plus $3 per call hour of Aria Live, only on the calls you choose; Enterprise plans are custom.
To see Aria guide a rep through a live enterprise call and update the deal afterwards, book a 30-minute Proshort demo.
